Our Heritage

From a taxi-delivered lunch counter to the airport terminals

Paschal's began in 1947 when brothers James and Robert Paschal opened a small luncheonette in Atlanta — no stove, no car, hot lunches cooked at home and carried in by taxi. It grew into a dining room, a jazz club, and a gathering place for the civil rights movement. That same name and that same kitchen went on to feed millions of travelers at Hartsfield–Jackson, and it still does today from Concourse B.

1947

James and Robert Paschal open a 30-seat luncheonette in Atlanta — the start of more than 75 years of Southern cooking.

1980

The Dobbs–Paschal Midfield Corporation wins a 15-year contract to provide food, beverage, and retail at the new Atlanta airport.

1995

Paschal's partners with Concessions International to continue running foodservice outlets as a prime operator at Hartsfield–Jackson.

2008

At its peak, Paschal's and its partners provide foodservice across roughly eighteen U.S. airports.

Today

Paschal's serves travelers in Concourse B — recognized by Food & Wine among the airport's best dining.

A landmark venture

When Atlanta opened its new midfield terminal, the Paschal brothers joined Dobbs House in a joint venture that won a 15-year contract to run food, beverage, and retail at the airport — one of the era's most significant minority-participation concession agreements, and the start of Paschal's decades at Hartsfield–Jackson.
